The aim of the four-year project The Intelligent Museum is to implement an AI-supported exhibition concept developed in cooperation with the Deutsches Museum in Munich and the Fraunhofer Institute for Optronics, Systems Technology and Image Exploitation (IOSB) in Karlsruhe.

Within the project, novel approaches in the domain of AI will be critically examined. Experimenting with new digital aesthetics and forms of expression simultaneously enables new museum experiences and thus new ways of museum communication and mediation; the museum space becomes a forum, a place of experience and critical exchange.

The project aims at realising new computer- and AI-based artworks. The cooperation between ZKM and Deutsches Museum together with the IOSB opens up possibilities to create additional aspects in the view of technologies beyond the focus on technology, to reach new target groups for the topic and to create a new kind of (museum) experience.
